Nashville has long been known as the home of country music but Southern Gospel has also left its mark on the rich history of what’s known as “Music City.” Many of the legendary recording studios such as Sound Shop, Hilltop, RCA Studio B, and others have given birth to hit songs by artists like the Speer Family, Statesmen , Blackwoods, Hinsons, Kingsmen and many others. Les Butler is taking fans of Southern Gospel inside some of these historic buildings on his daily video blog, Southern Gospel 365. With rare interviews, video footage, and VIP behind the scenes access, Les Butler will be releasing a series of videos from the top studios, starting at Hilltop Studio in Madison, TN. “If these walls could talk, my what stories they would tell. They can’t; but I can. With the help of historical accounts and the input of former owner and current manager, John Nicholson, we will share some of those stories with you,” stated Les Butler.
The first installment will take fans deep into Hilltop’s rich history and they will play audio that’s never been heard before that includes some of biggest names in Southern Gospel. The Hilltop installments will be a six-part series, with the first episode airing Monday, June 19th. A new episode will be released each Monday for six weeks. Fans can go to the Southern Gospel 365 Facebook page or to www.southerngospel365.com to watch these incredible episodes.
